The Cake!
I have yet to find a picture of exactly what I want my cake to look like, but if I mix together a few of these ideas, it will be perfect!
The monogram cake topper
I want to have a "G" cake-topper just like this one but of the same font in our monogram. So this is what I did.....
First I ordered the monogram from crafty eddy! It is a 5" letter "G" in Edwardian Script. He was so easy to work with! Just email him at [email protected] and tell him what you want. He also has like 300 pictures you can look at of tons of different letters. I'm thinking of also ordering the "Love is Sweet" letters from him for the candy buffet. Below are the pics of exactly how I did it and the costs, but here is also a great link to tell you how to make your own!

First I spraypainted the monogram with silver spraypaint. (This is the backside of the letter).
Next, I took the rhinestones and glued them to the front side of the monogram. I used E6000 glue from Michaels and "the perfect positioner" tool from the same place I ordered the rhinestones to set them in place.
Here is the finished product! It is waaaay more purple and shiny in person! It was very easy to do and took me about 2 hours while sitting in front of the TV. Here is exactly what I used and the cost breakdown:
E6000 glue from Michaels-$5.00
4 gross of the purple velvet flat back rhinestones size 9SS from rhinestoneshop.com-$6.00x4=$24.00
1 gross of the purple velvet flat back rhinstones size 12 ss from rhinestoneshop.com=$7.00
the perfect positioner tool from rhinestoneshop.com=$1.50
And what I learned from the experience is that it was a great idea to have both the 9SS and 12SS sizes, that way I could use the bigger size so it wouldn't take forever to set the stones but I still had the smaller ones for the areas that needed a much smaller size. if I could do it again I would have ordered 3 gross 12ss and 2 gross 9ss.

Cake design
I LOVE the designs on these cakes! My cake is going to be a 4 tier round cake with silver scrolls like these. As shown below it will have ribbon on the bottom of each tier (but in purple) and purple orchids scattered on each tier as well!
I want flowers on my cake similar to these but I'm thinking since my colors are purple, black and silver, maybe having purple orchids.
